The typical tutoring session is at a library or at the student's home for 1 hour. We work with the student on their homework and class materials to make sure they are grasping the subject matter. If it is necceassry, additional homework is assigned. Built into teaching the subject matter are tips on how to study, note taking, asking questions in class, how to take a test, and effective time usage. We aim to teach the student what is neccessary to succeed in their current class AND in their ongoing academic career.
As answered by one of our students, "they explained it in a way I could understand." We accredit the success of our students to the unique approach we take for every single student. Our tutoring program, unlike most of our competitors, is not "cookie cutter." We tailor each students tutoring program to meet their needs and reach their academic goals. Most importantly, we truly care about each and every student we are privileged to tutor. We understand how important it is for our students to succeed since they are the future of our society.
It is impossible for every teacher's teaching styles to match up with each student's individual learning styles. When this happens a student's performance drops in that class. With increasing number of students and work loads, teachers are not able to provide one-on-one personalized teaching for every student. We step in to provide this very important service for the student so they can be academically successful! Studies have shown that one on one tutoring almost always increaes a student's academic performance by 2 letter grades! Tutoring is also important in making sure even students making high grades in their classes are learning the neccessary skills they will need to perform well on standardized tests such as the ACT and SAT. Some students feel they are not being challenged in their class and want to 'raise the bar' on their academic performance. No matter where the student stands, tutoring ALWAYS increases a student's study skills, intelligence, and understanding of the subject matter.
Unlike many of our competitors, there is no contract required for our services. There are no hidden registration or consultation fees. Our rate is based upon grade level and subject. We do offer this rate for tutoring 2 students at the same time as well.
